How To Grow Your Dental Practice By Thinking ‘Por Now, Por Later’

Dr. Ginger Bratzel talks about sequencing your change in your dental practice.

I’m going to give you a little background about myself to help explain this next concept.  Being from New Mexico, most everyone speaks a little Spanish.  When you combine that with English, you get Spanglish.  A Spanglish term we have incorporated in my home as well as my business, is ‘Por Now, or Por Later’.  Translation being is ‘For Now or For Later’?

When you apply this phrase to a task, you are asking does this need completed ‘Por Now’, meaning right now, or ‘Por Later’ sometime in the future.

This philosophy can be applied to your business thinking as well.  As you progress and are acquiring new concepts you need to ask yourself is this to be used ‘por now’ or ‘por later’?

When you learn a new technique for your dental practice, is that something you need to apply ‘por now’?   Maybe it’s adding a new team member to help your business run smoothly.  So you must determine what steps you need to take place to make this action happen right then.

Other times it isn’t needed until ‘por later’.  Now, this isn’t an indefinite term, you must set yourself a goal and determine when the ‘later’ is.  Will it be next month or in six months?  You must set a date and start planning and taking steps to ensure that goal is met.If you use this thinking in your dental practice it will help you to sequence your change and ease those feelings of being overwhelmed.

You can determine is this something I need to do right now or set myself a goal for it to be applied sometime within my future.

In this video, you’ll learn about:

  • ‘Por Now or Por Later’ and how can it help me?
  • Determining when a change needs to take place
  • How to set goals for change and ensure they happen for you

Please take a few minutes and watch the video above– do it for you and for your practice.

How To Attract More Dental Patients by using E-Myth Revisited

Dr. Ginger Bratzel talks about the E-Myth Revisited

Our team recently participated in building a home for Habitat for Humanity.  Taking people with no building knowledge to building a house in a day, after only seven minutes of direction.  How they are able to do that is by taking home building down to the very basics.  The key concept is if you know colors you were able to build this house because I was based on color codes.

If you step outside of your standard practices, you can apply this basic process to your running your business as well.

You might think, how can I relate something like this to my dental practice?  If you peel back all of the technology and industry terms and apply basic color-coding systems you can build a better, more efficient business. If you find someone that can understand the very basics of working in a business and knows their colors they could be your next best employee.

Click on the video image below to watch.

By removing all of the industry terms and apply a concept like a basic ‘color-coding’ system to your dental practice it will ease the worry of bringing in new team members who knows everything about dentistry.  You may not find someone who is a certified dental assistant. But if you have a numeric color-coded crown set up and call this your ‘blue set’, that is easily understood.  This will not only make the process more efficient but will decrease the learning curve going forward.

The key is putting these simple steps in place to make your business more efficient, and therefore more successful.

In this video, you’ll learn about:
  • Getting back to the basics
  • Color-coding your practice
  • How simplistic steps can help you

How to Attract More Dental Patients By Asking ‘If Not Now, Then When’

Dr. Ginger Bratzel talks about investing in change in your practice and utilizing that change optimally for you and your dental practice.

Change is necessary to grow a successful and prosperous business.  Whether that be bringing on a new team member or investing in new office equipment.  Those types of advances is what is essential for a growing business.

When thinking about change, you must think ‘If Not Now, Then When’?

When planning change but not deciding on the ‘when’, you are cheating yourself, your family and your practice.  In your busy lives, it is easy to see change is needed but putting off into the indefinite future.  This is why you must use change and growth optimally.

Once you make a decision to make a change in your practice, you must then make a decision when to place that change into effect.  Step back, and make plans to set these changes into motion.

If you determine you need to make a substantial investment to your business.  Make yourself a plan of action to complete that goal.

In this video, you’ll learn about:
  • Committing yourself to change
  • Determining when change when will occur
  • Using this change optimally

How To Grow Your Dental Practice By Letting Go Of Certain Things

Dr. Ginger Bratzel talks about learning to let go.

A lot of my discussions involve adding new thinking and techniques.  But sometimes in order to make room for growth and improvement you must learn to let go of the old.  Even while you may be learning new things, if you continue to hold on to those old beliefs, they can be holding you back from growth and improvement.  You must reduce the clutter in your business thinking.

We can all only hold so much, not only physically but mentally.

It is not only important to think of what you are going to add to improve your dental practice, but to also think of what you can take away.  When you are thinking about change remind yourself to let go of those limiting beliefs to make room for the new.

You apply this same thinking in your home.  If you are continually bringing in new things and don’t get rid of the outdated items, your home will become cluttered and you will feel overwhelmed.  This same thinking can apply in your dental practice.  You must learn to let go of those limiting beliefs to help promote growth and prosperity in your business.

In this video, you’ll learn about:
  • The importance of letting go of limiting beliefs
  • Making room for the new
  • Reducing the clutter in your business thinking

How To Grow Your Dental Practice By Learning To Delegate

Dr. Ginger Bratzel talks about learning to delegate.

If you are one of our regular viewers you know I am always giving you a wealth of information on things you need ‘to-do’ to help grow your business.  Which is great because that means are you dedicated to change and growth in your dental practice.  As a result, if keep adding to your to-do list you could realize you have 20 things on your agenda to get done and this will make you feel overwhelmed, instead of keeping you on track to get closer to your goal.

Remember, to-do lists are only there to help you, not overwhelm you.  They should be inspiring and help you move forward in a positive direction.

Also, a lot of times doctors take on all these responsibilities onto themselves.  It’s your business and you’re focused on making the growth happen yourself.  This brings on unnecessary overwhelming feelings because that task may need to be completed by someone else-not you!

Do you need to delegate it out to someone in your office?  Does it need to be outsourced to another vendor?  Don’t allow yourself to become the bottleneck for things getting done.  Your role as the dentist is to focus on leadership, management and most importantly doing dentistry.  You are not the ‘doer’.

Click on the video image below to watch.

Each day you should assess your to-do list and only have three laser focused things you want to accomplish to get to your goal.  If these things are not geared toward getting you to your goal and growing your dental practice, they should not be on your list.  By doing this, you will stay better focused and on track.

To help you narrow down your to-do list, ask yourself these three things.  First, does it need to be completed by you?  Second, is this task getting you closer to your goals?  And third, is it laser focused?  If you can’t answer yes to all three of those things, then that task should be delegated to someone else.

Another perk to only having 3 things on your to-do list, you can complete these tasks quicker than the never ending list you were creating for yourself before.  You will have a sense of accomplishment, therefore, giving you a more positive outlook when moving on to your next set of tasks.

In this video, you’ll learn about:

  • Importance of managing your to-do list
  • Staying laser focused
  • Tasks that you need to complete vs. tasks that should be delegated
Please take a few minutes and watch the video above– do it for you and for your practice.
