Life happens and derails our goals. Businesses have interruptions. So what do you do when things aren’t going the way you want or you’re stuck? We talk about changing the focus to what you can control to create momentum and results.

5 Action Steps You Can Take Right Now To Get Control Back

When life gives you lemons, you have to make a conscious decision to make lemonade.  No one is going to roll up with a pitcher of water and a cup of sugar.  It takes momentum to get started.  And it’s helpful if you have a list to follow like a recipe to get you moving.  Here’s yours.

#1.  If you have services that someone can use right now during the emergency, let people KNOW.

If these are standard services you offer, get the word out.  People need to be reminded.  Is it a less common or new service, make you update your website and social media with the information?

#2.  Help other in the community.

Karma is a beautiful thing.  And the more you give, the more that is going to come back.  Have you heard of Mattress Mack, the Houston furniture owner known for his generosity and community involvement?  He provides shelter and food for people affected by natural disasters.  There are so many things you can do.  This is YOUR community, YOUR people.  And one of the perks of being a business owner is being able to lend a hand when something happens.  People do business with others they KNOW, LIKE, and TRUST…and this will strengthen this process.  (In the video I share what I’ve done with my local business in the past to give you inspiration.)

#3.  Reach out and directly connect with your customers, clients and patients.

Do you know that smartphone that you can’t live without?  Well, it’s fantastic for texting and calling.  Reach out to your customers.  See how they are doing right now.  Show genuine compassion and care.  (In the video I share what my client and personal physical therapist, Derek Lengston, implemented after we brainstormed some ideas for his clinic.)

#4.  Time to work ON your business.
