Creating greater success and results with less stress by eliminating the unnecessary static in your life.
As dentists, we are always learning. We are students of life, and it’s in our nature to strive to always learn the next new or updated procedure. And if a learning opportunity is there we should take advantage of it.
But I wanted to share another way of thinking with you that will give you more results and more free time, with less stress.
While learning is critical to our ever advancing lives, we are in the age of information overload. With technology encompassing our entire lives through computers, tablets, and smartphones. Any random question that pops in your head, you probably have something in arms reach at all times that you can instantly ‘Google’ it and find the answer.

But, on the flip side of the coin, there is so much information out there it can be overwhelming. This world of instant access to any knowledge we are searching for has presented another problem – the world of information overload. It’s becoming life consuming, 24/7.
So, if you’re looking for the next shiny ‘thinking’ tool that will fill your schedule and get more dental patients, I have some insight to share with you.
But before you can start, you have to disconnect. I challenge you to disconnect yourself from all that static for 24 hours. Disconnect with the technology world and get yourself out of the cyclone that has sucked us all in, so you can hit the reboot button on your mind before you can begin this new way of looking at things.
You will sit down and select a goal you want to work on for the next 90 days. It could be case conversion, your hygiene department, or growing new patient numbers. Whatever area in your business you feel needs improvement and attention right now. Pick a theme and stick with it. Everything that you read, take courses on, or watch will be related to that one theme. This will help clear your mind by eliminating all the outside distractions (or shiny objects).
When you watch the video, I break down your assignment even further by giving you 3 steps to complete this 90-day challenge. You will see you will get more done, and feel better doing it. And it will help from those shiny ball distractions that may seem important at the time, but you will often find at the end of the 90 days it wasn’t worth your time.
In this video, you’ll learn about:
- Learning to disconnect
- Stop chasing the shiny ball
- How to focus on one central theme at a time
