Over talking and over educating the patient on the technical details of your procedure is causing the patient to tone out and disconnect.
Patients don’t want a dental school lesson. When we rely too heavily on pamphlets & brochures and educating them on everything, it only leads to more confusion and sometimes panic…and ultimately, don’t accept treatment.

concerns, different assessments, and results…what I really needed was the information to be interpreted in the simplest terms.
You want to be sure to use layman’s terms and encouraging words to ease your patient’s concerns. Tell them how you can help them.
