How To Look For Opportunities To Grow Your Dental Practice

Dr. Bratzel talks about how to attract more dental patients by looking for the opportunities.

Right now there are so many opportunities for every business, but they are shying away from these opportunities. 
They do this by making excuses and blaming circumstances, saying, “It’s the economy,” “It’s not right for now,” “I’m not any good at that,” “I can’t do this.”

They are living in a fear-based mentality about it, but if you can really embrace it and say, “Hey, there is a crisis or situation going on, there’s a problem that needs to be solved; what’s the opportunity in it for me?”

Sometimes, it’s very difficult to look in your own self and your own office and find those opportunities. So to practice and get comfortable with it, go out and look for opportunities elsewhere, because you are the outside eyes for someone else.

When you go to a restaurant, maybe the service isn’t the way you want it to be. If you see an opportunity that they have, give yourself the mental challenge to solve the problem as a hypothetical exercise for practice. You’re only doing this mentally and for yourself to develop your own opportunity muscle. 

Back at your office, look for what opportunities are available to you, right now under your nose, that you are not taking advantage of. Is there a procedure that you would like to do but aren’t doing? Is there a type of treatment that your patients are asking for, but you aren’t trained for so you’ve just been referring it off? Is there an employee that could be doing a lot more for you, but you haven’t had the time to develop them? 

What opportunities are right under your nose? What can you do? If you don’t seize the opportunities, you will never get the results.
