Focusing On Your Existing Patients

What happens to your existing patients when you are focusing on gaining new patients?

The number one question and request I get from dentists all the time focuses on one thing: “How do I get more patients?”  Everyone, no matter what business you are in, wants to grow and attract more customers.  But I want to know about the patients you already have.

You have spent a lot of money and time on getting your existing patients but they are often forgotten because the focus is on bringing in new ones.  You have already invested in your existing patients; don’t let them fall between the cracks because you are only focusing on the new.  Don’t let them forget you are their dentist.

A rule of thumb: 50% of your marketing needs to focus on existing patients.

Just like real life farmers and ranchers who spend a lot of their efforts on building and maintaining a good fence around their property to protect their ‘herd’, you have to be just as diligent as they are when it comes to protecting your existing patient herd.  Ranchers know the value in a good fence.

This same thinking applies to your existing patients.  Don’t let your current patients forget you are their dentist.  It’s about maintaining a relationship with them, even when they aren’t in your office.  Even if you are getting 100 new patients a month, how many are you letting escape out the back door?

In this video, you’ll learn about:

  • It isn’t all about getting new patients
  • Don’t waste your investment
  • The value of a good ‘fence’
